IPP Case Assistance

D'Adre Cunningham provides case-by-case assistance to dependency attorneys, criminal defense counsel, individuals, and advocates working to help incarcerated parents maintain contact with their children or access to reproductive health services.

Case Assistance May Include:

    • Technical assistance for dependency, criminal and family law attorneys representing incarcerated parents. 
    • Providing social science research and legislative history to help individuals’ access to visitation and alternative sentencing options, and to support chances for family reunification.
    • Understanding how to use 2013 legislation for Incarcerated Parents, SHB 1284, in dependency proceedings and termination hearings. 
    • Understanding case approaches related to issues around trauma, addiction and mental health.
