AOC Seeks Language Access Supervisor

The AOC is seeking a Language Access Supervisor to provide primary leadership support to the agency’s language access programs and supervise four other staff positions dedicated to this work. This position is located in the Supreme Court Commissions section within AOC’s Office of Court Innovation. The Supreme Court Commissions are focused on equity and access to justice in Washington State Courts, specifically: language access, racial justice, and gender equity. In the Office of Court Innovation, you will join a team of dedicated managers, skilled policy analysts and researchers who work on topics that are incredibly relevant to the issues of concern seen in the court system today.

This position serves as primary staff to the Interpreter and Language Access Commission (ILAC). The ILAC’s mission is to support the courts in providing equal access to justice and access to court services and programs for all individuals regardless of their ability to communicate in the English language, through the use of credentialed and qualified interpreters and translators. This position also supervises three program coordinators and one administrative position. These programs include the Court Interpreter Program, which oversees the training and testing of certified and registered spoken language interpreters, and the Language Access and Interpreter Reimbursement Program, which is dedicated to promoting and enhancing language access in courts by providing reimbursement for interpreter services and related language access expenses.
