Banyan Legal Counsel is a boutique employment and business law firm in Seattle that strives to make legal services more accessible to businesses and nonprofits owned or led by women, BIPOC, members of the LGBTQIA community, and others who have been historically underserved by the legal profession. Our goal is to help our clients overcome challenges such as negative stereotypes, language, cultural, and other systemic barriers, institutional biases, and limited access to critical resources by providing high-quality, affordable legal services tailored to their unique needs.

We have an extremely fast-paced work environment that requires every member of our team to be flexible, adaptable to changing priorities and conditions, and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. We seek a deep understanding of where our clients are coming from – their culture, personal background, preconceived ideas about their business or working with lawyers, and what success means to them – and client satisfaction is our highest priority. We are not hierarchical and every team member plays a critical role in client service. Applicants should enthusiastically pitch in wherever needed, from answering phones to marking exhibits to designing client gifts, and openly accept suggestions and feedback from any member of the team. We have embraced remote work during the COVID pandemic and are unlikely to return to a regular office environment.

We are looking for a highly motivated attorney to join our team of passionate, hard-working, deep-thinking problem solvers. The position will initially focus on providing direct services to clients and then expand to include client outreach and business development.
