Position Title:  Public Defender Staff Attorney

Organization and Location:  Bellingham Assigned Counsel, P.S. (BAC), 2003 D Street, Bellingham, WA 98225

Description:  BAC is accepting applications for a staff attorney position.  We represent indigent persons charged with misdemeanors in Bellingham Municipal Court.

Qualifications:  Member of Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) in good standing.  The ideal candidate will have some experience and an interest in protecting civil rights/criminal defense.

Examples of Duties:  Compliance with performance guidelines; client representation; participation in the criminal defense system to provide effective assistance of counsel; caseload and time tracking; commitment to Rules of Professional Conduct; comply with all local city rules and court procedures; and comply with office policies.

Salary:  Negotiable
