The City of Sammamish is seeking a consultant for a one year contract starting January 1, 2021 to provide conflict public defender services when the City’s primary public defender has a conflict of interest that prevents them from representing a defendant who is eligible for public defense services. The Conflict Public Defender will provide legal representation for each of these defendants from the time of screening for eligibility and determination of a conflict of interest with the primary public defender through trial, sentencing and all appeals. The Conflict Public Defender will also represent in-custody defendants held in jail facilities during scheduled or unscheduled in-custody calendars.
