As a Defender, you will uphold the mission and exhibit these tenets through client-centered advocacy, and collaboration with your supervisor and colleagues toward professional development in your job-specific responsibilities. The following essential function will guide you on this journey and provide clear direction as to what is expected from this position. Level I Attorney position with a preference for candidates with experience or interest in defending contempt or Becca Bill representation.

The Level 1 Civil Legal Aid Attorney represents people impacted by criminal and civil legal systems by developing a range of strategies to redress the harms of the war on drugs and its disproportionate impact on communities of color. The Civil Legal Aid Attorney’s work will be in coordination with a Community Advisory Board.
