Pleading Your Client to a Sexual Offense? What you Need to Know About the ISRB and 71.09
Both Chapter 71.09 RCW and the Indeterminate Sentence Review Board (ISRB) use forensic psychological assessments to keep clients detained beyond their initial sentence. In this webinar, Kelly Canary will address what offenses can lead to civil commitment under Chapter 71.09 RCW and how to avoid a life sentence for your client under the ISRB. This CLE will teach defenders how to prepare their clients so they can avoid some of the pitfalls of pleading to sex offenses. It will also cover preparing clients for in-custody treatment that leads to release from prison, not a life sentence.
