Grays Harbor County is responsible for providing legal representation in Superior Court and District Court cases where the federal or state constitutions or state statutes, case law, or court rules mandate the provision of counsel at government expense. Public defense legal services are provided by private attorneys (non-county employees). The majority of services are provided pursuant to county contracts. All such contracts are for independent contractors for professional services.
