DPD is recruiting skilled investigators! We’re seeking applicants who have a passion for public defense, a commitment to racial justice, an ability to gather and analyze information, strong interviewing skills, strong forensic skills, and an ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. DPD’s investigators play a critical on our defense teams, working to support our clients to secure their desired outcome. DPD practices in several areas, including felonies, misdemeanors, juvenile defense, involuntary commitment (mental illness), and sex offender commitment. The department actively works to address racial disproportionality in the criminal legal system and other structural and systemic issues that harm our clients.
