October 21, 2022 | Alison Pagan

DPD is recruiting mitigation specialists! Work with a team to develop defense strategies, make diagnostic assessments, write mitigation reports, interview clients and family members, and more – all in support of achieving the best possible outcome for our clients. The department provides robust legal representation to indigent clients in felonies, misdemeanors, juvenile defense, family defense (dependency cases), involuntary commitment (mental illness), sex offender commitment, and inquests. We also work with the community to dismantle the systems that oppress our clients, to make the traditional systems that remain as restorative as possible, and to advocate for pathways that will allow our clients to succeed. DPD strives to create a flexible workplace culture that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive, premised on a shared anti-oppression framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference and who is passionate about social justice, racial equity, and the rights of those ensnared in a harmful system.

Salary: $86,596 – $109,765 + excellent benefits. Visit King County’s career page to learn more or apply. Posting closes at midnight on 11/10/2022.
