Legal Counsel for Youth and Children seeks a collaborative, organized, and number loving problem solver, committed to social justice and anti-racism, to manage LCYC’s finances. We are excited to open this new strategic position to a key administrative team member, integral in supporting our mission to protect the interests and safety of youth in Washington by advancing their legal rights.
The Director of Finance must reside in or near King County, Washington and have at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit accounting.
The Director of Finance will report to the Executive Director, who has been managing LCYC’s financials to date. They will work closely with LCYC Directors to monitor and inform decision-making on program budgets and spending, lead in improving and implementing LCYC’s accounting policies and procedures, identifying financial needs, analyzing financial projections, risks and opportunities. They will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on the financial aspects of multiple government and private foundation grants and applications.They will also work closely with LCYC’s contracted bookkeeper, managing and assisting with tasks such as invoices, taxes, allocations, and reconciliation.. They will work with the Executive Director, bookkeeper, and Board Finance Team for LCYC’s annual financial review and 990.
The Director of Finance will work in Quickbooks. They will also regularly update and utilize Tableau dashboards to review and inform LCYC financials and operations, and to complete invoice and payment review processes. Tableau allows LCYC to better visualize our financials for decisions making, increase transparency, decrease knowledge gaps, and collaborate on decision making. Prior knowledge of Tableau is not required, though a plus for applicants.
