JOB DESCRIPTION
Newhouse & Power, PLLC is looking for an Attorney to join the firm and provide quality and trusted legal services to the citizens of Yakima County and the lower Valley. The firm is a general practice firm which currently serves clients and businesses in a wide variety of cases. The firm appears in criminal cases which range from misdemeanor cases to serious felony matters. Our practice also includes civil no contact orders, contract disputes, construction litigation, estate planning, real estate, civil rights, employment disputes, and personal injury cases. Currently, the firm has cases in Yakima County, Benton/Franklin County, Grant and Adams County. We are looking for a motivated attorney to join this rapidly growing practice which is located in Sunnyside, Washington. That attorney will have the opportunity to practice in courts across the eastern half of Washington State and will work with seasoned counsel in both the civil and criminal realm.
Although Sunnyside is a small community, we pride ourselves in serving that community with integrity and zealous advocacy. Our office is looking for a new member who enjoys working with a team that is highly collaborative and employs a team-based approach to assisting our clients. On any given day we are asked to provide legal services both in the civil realm and the criminal realm and are known for our ability and willingness to fight for clients both big and small.

Examples of Attorney responsibilities are:
-Regular Court appearances in local District and Municipal Courts on misdemeanor criminal matters
-Writing and Arguing of Motions in District, Municipal and Superior Courts
-Legal Research regarding Criminal and Civil Matters
-Investigation of Cases to include the interview of clients and witnesses
-Conducting Trials
-Responding to Discovery and other demands related to civil litigation
-Communication with clients and opposing counsel
-Advising clients throughout the criminal process

Qualifications:
-WSBA membership required with an active bar number
-Ability to independently handle cases and meet client expectations
-Litigation Experience (Criminal or Civil) is Preferred
-Interest in Representing Clients in Criminal Matters both Public and Private
