Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel Seeks Panel Attorneys

Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel is looking for qualified attorneys to apply for our panels.  In-person and remote court appearance opportunities are available, depending upon the position. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent research and writing skills, courtroom experience, and a demonstrated commitment to social justice.  Experience working with mentally ill, non-English speaking, and/or indigent populations is a plus.  Courtroom or clinic experience preferred.

Attorneys will represent indigent clients in a variety of contexts, including ITA, juvenile, and criminal adult proceedings.  Assignments will depend on experience and interest.  Member of the Washington State Bar Association (in good standing) required. Compensation is dependent upon area of panel interest and is identified on the panel application.
