Stephen J Felice Lawyers Seeks Associate Lawyer
January 26, 2021 | Alison Pagan

We are a well-established law firm looking for an associate lawyer to join our team.  This position will provide a lawyer with the opportunity to practice in a small-town located in the Columbia Basin of Eastern Washington. Being in a small-town, our law firm is surrounded by farming communities and neighboring rural areas, all in which we have successfully helped generations of families. Although we are a general practice law firm, much of our practice focuses on criminal defense throughout Eastern Washington.

Excellent analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills are essential.  As a lawyer with our firm, you will maintain a misdemeanor and felony criminal case load including matters such as; driving and alcohol related offenses, assault offenses, drug offenses, property crimes, protection orders, pre-investigation matters, post-conviction matters, civil forfeitures, traffic infractions and department of licensing matters. Since we are a general practice law firm, this position will provide a lawyer with the occasional opportunity to prepare contracts, wills, personal injury cases and other general practice matters to serve our clients legal needs.

Over the years, the majority of our business has been derived from word of mouth.  We strive to maintain the values that have built this reputable practice over the decades.  We are seeking a lawyer to contribute to those same principles that have made our firm successful. Spanish speaking is highly desirable but more important is the ability for a lawyer to demonstrate compassion to our clients in the midst of a crisis. The lawyer we employ will be introduced to clients, lawyers, judges, court staff, law enforcement and other contacts in the counties and municipalities where we practice.  We expect our lawyers to maintain these professional relationships and represent the firm’s integrity and values.  We have an experienced support staff to assist our lawyers.  Through this position, a lawyer will receive mentoring by the firm’s principal lawyer who carries decades of experience at the firm.

Our office maintains a legal practice management system, Apple computers, a modern telephone system and conferencing technology.  This position requires basic tech skills to operate day to day functions.

Salary will be based on experience and/or other qualifications.

Travel: Occasional day-travel to neighboring county courts is often required for hearings.

Schedule: Office and courthouse hours Monday-Friday

License/Certification: Must be licensed to practice law in Washington State.
