UW Tribal Court Public Defender Seeks Part-Time Staff Attorney

The University of Washington School of Law’s Tribal Court Public Defense Clinic is recruiting to fill one vacancy at the Part-Time Temporary Staff Attorney level. The staff attorney would be responsible for providing professional legal indigent defense representation for clients in the Tulalip Tribal Court (Felony and Misdemeanors) where the UW Tribal Defense Clinic maintains an office. The staff attorney would also be responsible for jail visits at the Snohomish County Jail and the Marysville Jail where Tulalip Tribal Court Defendants ordered held are detained. The position is 60% time and therefore a commitment of 3 days per week is required, with a typical schedule of Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The position is a 9 month appointment to practice in the Tulalip Tribal Court with direct supervision and frequent collaboration with other attorneys in a mutually supportive office environment.
