Washington Innocence Project (WashIP) Mission: WashIP fights for innocent people across Washington State who have been wrongly convicted by: representing them in the courts, providing support as they rebuild their lives in freedom, and advocating for policy reform to improve the fairness and truth-seeking mission of Washington State’s criminal legal system.
Position Overview: The Staff Attorney maintains an active caseload litigating post-conviction claims of actual innocence that may be proven through DNA testing or other newly discovered evidence in Washington’s trial and appellate courts and in federal court. The Staff Attorney may serve as lead or co-counsel with pro bono partners, and work with WashIP Staff to support our clients while modeling WashIP’s values of an inclusive and respectful workplace.
