The WSBA is seeking applicants from Congressional Districts 3, 6, 7 North, and 8 to serve on the Board of Governors. The filing deadline is Wednesday, February 15 at 5:00pm PST. Terms on the Board are for three-years beginning September 2023 and ending September 2026. Click here to learn more and submit the application.

• District 3: currently held by Governor Lauren Boyd. Governor Boyd is eligible and undecided regarding seeking a second term.
• District 6: currently held by Governor Brett Purtzer. Governor Purtzer is not seeking another term.
• District 7 North: currently held by Governor Matthew Dresden. Governor Dresden is eligible and undecided regarding seeking a second term.
• District 8: currently held by Governor Erik Kaeding. Governor Kaeding is eligible and will be applying for a second term.

Term

The term of office for the above positions begin at the conclusion of the Sept. 8-9, 2023 meeting of the Board of Governors and ends at the conclusion of the September 2026 meeting of the Board of Governors.

Serving on the Board is a unique opportunity to make an impact on actual policy and development of policy for the organization. In addition to representing members, it is also an important community leadership role. This challenging and rewarding leadership experience asks you to come out of your comfort zone to examine your own and other viewpoints on important issues that can impact the profession and the public. No doubt about it, this is a commitment of time and energy however, your professional and personal growth, exposure to people of varying perspectives, and opportunity to advance the profession in an innovative direction will be worth it!

Filing Deadline and Election Information

The filing deadline is Feb. 15, 2023 by 5 p.m. PST. Congressional District positions are elected by members in each respective district through electronic voting, from March 15 to April 3. Please follow the instructions on the Board Elections page.
