There is one vacancy with the Yakima County Department of Assigned Counsel (Office of the Public Defender) for a Limited Term Staff Attorney at the Attorney I level. This position may end on or before May 31, 2020. (Please note: Funding may continue beyond this date and is dependent upon the departmental budget review at that time.) The incumbent is responsible for providing professional legal indigent defense representing civil mental commitment, Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) cases. Assignment is subject to the needs of the indigent defense program.

Attorney I ($5,277 – $5,609 per month, DOQ):

The incumbent would be assigned practice in Superior Court for ITA proceedings. Assignment is subject to the needs of the indigent defense program.
