Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
The ABA Center on Children and the Law is seeking to fill a Staff Attorney 2 position.  The position is focused on policy and practice improvements related to education advocacy for students in foster care, with some potential specific work in the state of Pennsylvania related to education and foster care.  The attorneys will conduct substantive legal work centered on system improvements to support the educational success of students in foster care.  This role will include providing training and technical assistance to the child welfare, court, and education systems and other stakeholders, researching and assisting with implementation of policies related to child welfare and education and related topics, and providing knowledge and expertise in both system reform and direct practice improvements. This role does not involve direct legal representation. The position will have potential to work with systems and agencies at both the federal, state and local levels.
