The Washington Defender Association (WDA) participates in amicus activities on behalf of indigent criminal defendants and other individuals whose lives are impacted by our justice systems. WDA’s amicus work is focused on the rights of indigent defendants, issues related to public/indigent defense and other injustices that impact marginalized individuals in our community. Through our amicus work we seek to improve the administration of justice and stimulate efforts to remedy inadequacies in substantive and procedural law that contribute to injustice.
If you want to learn more about WDA’s amicus activities, please take a look at our past amici curiae. If you would like WDA to either sign on to an amicus brief or draft an amicus brief on a case, email wdaamicus@defensenet.org.
