May 20, 2024 | Erin Stewart

Washington State Office of Public Defense Parent Representation Program is looking for attorneys to contract with  OPD to represent indigent parents in dependency and termination cases in Washington State.  There is a full time contract available in Yakima, Washington.

The approximate caseload for a full-time attorney is 80 cases. The current annual compensation for a full-time contract is between $169,000 to $182,134; however, effective July 1, 2024, the new compensation rate will be between $186,000 to $200,347.  Part-time attorney position compensation is pro-rated based on a percentage of a full-time case load.  PFML often is available to employees of our contractors (including private law firms). PFML program includes an opt-in for self-employed people such as our solo practice contractors. More information can be found at the following link https://paidleave.wa.gov/elective-coverage/
