Council on Public Defense Seeks Volunteers
May 3, 2024 | Erin Stewart

The Council on Public (CPD) is accepting applications to fill multiple open positions. This is an opportunity to lead on a statewide level, influencing the future of public defense in our state. The CPD educates and informs policy makers on issues that need reform and provides concrete proposals that are enhanced by the comprehensive nature of the CPD membership.

Appointment is for a two-year term, with eligibility to be appointed for two additional two-year terms, totaling six years of service. The group meets monthly via zoom. Review the detailed position description, including instructions to apply, here. Learn more about the work of the CPD here.

The deadline to apply is May 31, 2024, and terms begin October 1, 2024.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact barleaders@wsba.org.

The WSBA welcomes WSBA members to apply and, for some positions, members of the public. The WSBA values diversity, equity and inclusion, and encourages Black, Indigenous and people of color, women, people from the LBGTQ communities, people with disabilities, and members who have been systemically oppressed, or impacted by the legal system to apply for our committees, boards, and panels.
