We currently have an immediate opening for a full-time attorney who is interested in indigent misdemeanor criminal defense. Ideal candidate would have ability to work compassionately and efficiently with clients of all ages from diverse backgrounds, who may also be suffering with chemical dependency, homelessness, developmental disabilities and mental health issues.

Position will require work from our office as well as mandatory in-person court appearances and jail visits. The best fit would be an independent fast-learner with strong communication skills. We seek self-starters who are flexible, organized and compassionate to join our growing public defense team.

We are open to hiring and mentoring recent graduates or candidates who have recently passed the WA State Bar Exam – this employment would be on an hourly basis until the employee is fully licensed. Court experience preferred but not required. Bilingual a plus. Eligible for retirement plan and employer matches for a portion of medical insurance to be paid after 90 days of employment as a full-time attorney. Salary dependent on experience and qualifications – to be discussed post interview.
