This CLE will address using subpoenas to get sensitive documents such as DCYF, school, and counseling records. Alex Manno and Laura Martin, public defenders with Snohomish County Public Defender Association, will give an overview of the processes related to subpoenas duces tecum, motions to compel, in-camera review, and discuss how to get sensitive documents not within the prosecutor’s control. They will also provide sample subpoenas, notice letters, typical responses from opposing parties, and protective orders. .
