Preparing for Clemency, Pardon and Prosecutor Initiated Resentencing (“6164”) Hearings
Clemency and 6164 Resentencing CLE Announcement

In recent years, due to changes in the law through the courts and the legislature, opportunities for resentencing and other forms of early release have increased.  In this CLE, presenters will discuss two early release avenues, the resentencing process through Prosecutor-initiated Resentencing (also called “6164”), RCW 36.27.130, and the Clemency and Pardon process through the Board and Governor.

Cindy Arends Elsberry, WDA Resentencing Resource Attorney, and Jennifer Smith, Executive Director of the Seattle Clemency Project, team up as presenters for this event. This CLE is intended for defense attorneys, investigators, sentencing advocates, and mitigation specialists who will represent individuals in resentencing or other early release cases.

1.25 Law and Legal Credits have been requested for this CLE. To register, please write to wda@defensenet.org with “6164 Hearings” in the subject line.
