Public Records and Discovery
Note: This is a rescheduling of the training on October 13th.

The public records act, Chapter 42.56 RCW can be a fruitful avenue for getting information helpful to the defense in criminal cases. This training will cover the basics of public record requests and look closely at some aspects of these requests. Mon-Cheri Barnes, a Public Records Specialist with King County, will discuss what public records exist, narrowing the scope of a request, addressing the denial of a request, and what records may be legitimately unavailable. Attendees will leave this CLE knowing how to make an effective public records request and what to expect in a response.

*Please note, each program in our Discovery Series is a stand-alone webinar. You do not need to attend the entire series if you are unable to.

To register for this CLE, email wda@defensenet.org with “Public Records” in the subject line.1.0 Law and Legal credit has been requested from the WSBA for this program.
