This webinar, presented by WDA’s Misdemeanor Resource Attorney Magda Baker, will examine ways to seek suppression of evidence that stems from traffic stops. It will include a brief overview of Terry stops in general and cover stops based on police officers’ mistakes of fact, stops based on tips from other drivers, pretext stops and the permissible scope of traffic stops. Finally, Magda will discuss a few specific traffic infractions, such as those related to turns and squealing tires.

About the Presenters

Magda Baker is the Misdemeanor Resource Attorney for the Washington Defender Association. Magda graduated from the University of Washington Law School and has been a public defender her entire career. She has worked in both trial and appellate offices. She specializes in practice issues relating to DWLS, DUI and the exclusionary rule.
