Description: This seminar addresses Sentencing, Calculating Offender Scores, Pre-Plea & Pre-Sentence Consequences, Advise to Client & Risks of Trial & Preserving Appellate Issues. The course will begin with an overview of the history of the Sentence Reform Act, including sex offender and persistent offender perils. It will include application and evaluation of relevant evidence rules, statutory assessment, case law, defense strategies, and the attorney’s ethical duties including Relevant Rules of Professional Conduct.
