WDA had three great summer interns, including RK Brinkmann, who is now a 2L at the University of Washington. RK worked on practice advisories, motions and an amicus brief. Here are links to summer projects to which RK contributed:
- Amicus in State v. Conway arguing that the Washington Supreme Court should accept review and consider whether sentencing courts must be able to remit mandatory LFOs for people whose sole income comes from SSI
- Practice advisory on defending clients charged with obstructing
- Practice advisory on pretrial release
- Practice advisory on defending homeless clients charged with second degree trespass (not yet published)
- Motion arguing courts may not hold defendants without bail pending probation revocation hearings
- Motion arguing a driver does not commit an infraction by crossing a line dividing two lanes of traffic heading in the same direction
