Yakima County Seeks Contract Attorneys

Full and Half Caseload Adult Felony Contracts Available: Yakima County is recruiting attorneys to contract for representation of adults charged with felony offenses in Superior Court and qualifying for appointed counsel. Interested attorneys must meet minimum qualifications to be court-appointed on felony cases under CrR 3.1 (Standards for Indigent Defense). Attorneys meeting qualifications for appointment on more serious level of offenses are encouraged to apply. The professional services contract is for annual terms with automatic renewals unless otherwise terminated by either party. The attorney will be an independent contractor. Full-time contract compensation is between $181,539 to $193,749/year depending on qualifications. Half caseload contracts are compensated at 50% of the yearly rate.
