LEADERSHIP REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
This fall, WDA is partnering with Rob Wyman of Casey Family Programs, JustLead Washington, and Gideon’s Promise to present a completely virtual Leadership Development Program. The mission of the program is: Cultivating and empowering defenders and the community to achieve equity!
This two month long program will consist of prerecorded sessions from speakers including Francis Adewale, Omid Bagheri, and Ilham Askia, as well as interactive group sessions where the prerecordered sessions will be discussed. Additionally, Jon Rapping (founder and president of Gideon’s Promise), will present a keynote. We will focus on building foundational skills related to race and equity at all levels of leadership, and improving leadership competencies in defender communities and Washington’s justice system. The leadership program is open to all WDA members who wish to attend, regardless of experience, organizational status, or job description. We encourage participation from individuals in traditional leadership positions as well as those manifesting leadership in other ways, and we seek geographic, practice area and lived experience diversity from our participants.
Registration is now open and the interactive sessions will occur on September 9, October 2, October 9, and October 16. Because of the highly collaborative nature of the program, we would like you to commit to attending every interactive session and viewing every prerecorded session. Click here to see the full agenda.
A link to a video will be sent in the confirmation email that you will need to respond to by September 7.
