In this joint Amicus Brief, the ACLU,WDA and numerous others urge the Washington Supreme Court to allow Ms. Simmons to seek a law license. Ms Simmons. The Court should allow rehabilitated person with criminal histories to pursue bar licenses because it increases public confidence in and reputation for the bar. “Character and fitness” is shown by evidence of rehabilitation. Here the record establishes rehabilitation.
